I am saddened on this 29th day of October 2018...

October 29, 2018

I am saddened on this 29th day of October 2018...not by the gloomy rainy weather but rather by the senseless act of hate perpetuated by an individual who is poisoned with vitriol and guided by unfounded beliefs. Yesterday, in a Pittsburg Pennsylvania synagog, eleven people were massacred and now dead while many others were seriously hurt by the bullets of a person who knew nothing about his victims other that they were worshiping a new life and were Jewish. I feel nothing but numbness and regret that these types of crimes are increasing in my beloved country by people who do not understand civilized principles, humanity, or our American democracy.
Please stand with me in my grief and sorrow.

Shalom,

Jay Johnston

Spooky Time Halloween Celebration At The Farmington Libraries

I am always impressed with the activities I observed during the day and was especially delighted to visit  Children's Librarian Anna Eisen and her brood of scary kids having an exciting time while they strutted their stuff at Friday's "Tot's and Tunes" program at the Main Library.  You never know what you will find when you visit the Library.

Best, Jay

October 3rd NYC Bus Trip

Our October 3, 2018, Manhattan trip was memorable in many ways: seeing the incessant new construction of mega-buildings with no apparent hold on the architect's imaginations or owner’s pocketbooks; which has spawned a city spanning the 16th through the 21st centuries, into an even more fantastic montage of social-structural history. A favorite lunch stop is at four World Trade Center,  101 Liberty Street on the third floor at Eataly downtown, a great place to look out over the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, reflect, understand, and celebrate the courageous and resourceful with fabulous cuisine.
